You’re making sales. The diary’s full, the till’s ringing, the revenue numbers look respectable. And yet — at the end of every month — you’re looking at your bank account wondering where the hell it all went.

Sound familiar? Because if you’re a founder of a small business or boutique brand, this is one of the most common (and quietly devastating) patterns I see. And as a small business mentor who’s lived this from both sides, I want to name it clearly: making money and keeping money are two completely different skills. Most founders are taught the first. Almost nobody is taught the second.

The Myth That’s Costing You

We’ve been sold a version of business success that centres on revenue. More sales. Bigger launches. Longer queues. And yes — turnover matters. But turnover without a profitable foundation is just expensive busyness.

I see founder-led boutiques and lifestyle brands fall into this trap constantly. Sales are decent. The brand looks healthy from the outside. But underneath? There’s a permanent low-level financial anxiety. Cash rich one week, arranging payment plans with suppliers the next. Robbing Peter to pay Paul — and telling yourself this must just be what running a business feels like.

It isn’t. And you can do better. (And I’ve got you.)

The problem isn’t that you’re not working hard enough. It’s that nobody handed you the actual operating manual for small business finances.

The System That Changed Everything

The book is Profit First by Mike Michalowicz. I devoured it a weekend, and within days, I had restructured the entire financial model of my business. Here’s what I actually did — because vague advice helps no one.

Step 1: Audit your allocation. Before opening a single new account, I sat down and worked out what percentage of my revenue was actually going to each category — operations, stock, tax, owner’s pay, profit. Most founders have never done this. When you see those percentages laid out, it’s clarifying (and, fair to say, alarming). That’s the starting point.

Step 2: Open the accounts. Profit First works by separating your money into dedicated accounts before you can accidentally spend it. Not one business account where everything pools together and disappears. Multiple accounts — profit, tax, operating expenses, owner’s pay — each receiving a pre-determined percentage of every deposit. The discipline is built into the structure, which means you’re not relying on willpower.

Step 3: Dedicate a Money Day. Every week, I blocked one morning for nothing but finances. The first task was always the same: reconcile everything. No skipping, no postponing. Once it became a rhythm — not a crisis response — everything shifted.

What changed wasn’t just the numbers. It was the feeling. Within weeks, I could see cash accumulating in my profit account. Within a quarter, I had reserves I hadn’t had in years. Within a year, I had genuine financial security for the first time since launching. I could pay suppliers properly, replenish stock from a position of strength rather than panic, and start to repay debts without the sweaty 2am palpitations.

That sense of control — it changes how you lead. It changes how you show up. It changes everything.

The Proof That Convinced Me It Works Both Ways

When my sister Lisa was starting her own business, I gave her one piece of advice before she’d taken a single booking: get the finances straight from day one.

We worked through the Profit First framework together from her very first sale. She built the habit before she ever had the chance to consider anything else.

October 2018, she opened. March 2020, a global pandemic forced her to close her doors entirely. As a beauty therapist — a profession that requires close contact — she couldn’t trade at all.

But she had cash reserves. Built methodically, month after month, before any of us knew what was coming. And those reserves saw her through.

That’s not luck. That’s financial architecture, put in place early, by a founder who never had to retrofit a system from a place of fear.

“Having such a good road-map helped me survive and grow, and enabled me to continually invest in myself with training and buy into new lines to keep my customers engaged. I can’t think of a better blessing for a start-up business than having you by their side.” — Lisa

What Shifts When You Get This Right

You stop dreading the end of the month. You stop the mental arithmetic at 2am. You start making decisions from clarity rather than anxiety — which stock to back, which supplier relationship to invest in, which opportunity is actually worth the risk.

And here’s what I know from 15+ years in the founder trenches: the businesses that survive the hard seasons — the ones that come out the other side with their relationships, their reputation, and their sanity intact — are the ones that built their financial foundations before they needed them.

This is the work that a good small business mentor actually does. Not cheerleading. Not vision boarding. Getting into the operational reality of your business and fixing the things that are actually costing you.

If something in this post hit home — if you’ve been running the numbers at 2am or you’ve experienced your own ‘where did it all go?’ moment — let’s talk about it properly.

A complimentary Breakthrough Session is where we cut through the noise, name what’s actually going on, and map out your next best steps with clarity and momentum.

Book your Breakthrough Session here.

Know someone who needs to read this? Forward it on — because the world needs more founder-led businesses built on solid ground, not just good vibes.

It was a busy Saturday. The kind where you’re running on adrenaline and everything feels slightly too fast.

A client came in — a couple who’d shopped with me for years, and whom I genuinely loved spending time with. She was carrying a bag. Silk pyjamas. Faulty. She needed it resolved.

And instead of slowing down and really listening to her, I managed the situation. ‘No problem — leave them with me, I’ll call the brand on Monday and get you a replacement.’ Efficient, yes. But so completely wrong.

What I did in that moment was take the choice away from her. I didn’t ask what she needed. I didn’t let her tell me what resolution would feel right. I was too busy to give her the one thing she’d come for: to be understood.

But it was too late. She’d already lost confidence — in the product, and in me. It was her husband who took my call. Measured, not unkind. ‘She was just a bit upset that you didn’t take the time to speak with her.’

They didn’t come back. And I knew the relationship changed in the moment I chose speed and efficiency over presence.

Loyalty isn’t a system. It’s a feeling.

Most small business owners think loyalty is something you build with schemes — stamp cards, discount tiers, birthday emails, points apps. These are incentives. And incentives are not loyalty.

Loyalty is what happens when your customer has a genuine choice of where to spend their money — and they choose you. Consistently. Even when you’re slightly less convenient, slightly more expensive, or even when you’ve occasionally got something wrong. They still come back.

“The moment a customer feels genuinely seen is the moment loyalty begins.”

The thing most small business loyalty strategies miss is that your regulars don’t want a discount. They want to feel remembered. Greeted by name. To know you thought of them when the new delivery arrived. To trust that you’d tell them honestly if something wasn’t quite right. These things cost nothing. And they are worth considerably more than a free flat white.

What loyalty actually looks like in practice

At Odyssey Boutique (my original brick & mortar business), I learned early that the first seconds of a customer’s visit set the trajectory of everything that followed. The standard retail openers — ‘Can I help you?’ or ‘Are you just browsing?’ — put anyone on the back foot before they even had a chance to look around.

Instead, I merchandised intentionally. Placed things in a way that prompted a natural response — a look, a touch, a question — and used that as the opening. The conversation could go anywhere from there. And as it did, I was learning: what they liked, what they were drawn to, what they were really looking for. Trust built in layers. In meaningful conversation and real connection. And that trust became loyalty.

Loyalty also needs two things working together: consistency and surprise. The consistency is what makes you feel safe to return to — your standard, your quality, the reliable experience your customers have come to count on. And the surprise? That’s what creates devotion. The unexpected note. The first look before it goes to anyone else. The gesture that says: I thought of you specifically.

It doesn’t need to be elaborate. It needs to be intentional.

When loyalty becomes a growth strategy

Planet A is a gift and lifestyle concept store. When we began working together, they had a community around them — people literally living on their doorstep who would genuinely love what they were doing — but that community wasn’t being activated with any intention. Customer data wasn’t tracked. The relationship between their audience and their revenue was largely invisible.

The turn-around wasn’t complicated. We created more opportunities for connection: education, events, knowledge sharing. We gave their existing customers more reasons to feel invested — part of something, rather than occasional visitors to it.

The results: 77% footfall increase, 80% uplift in sales conversion, 184% year-on-year sales growth.

When customers feel they belong to what you’ve built, they stop behaving like shoppers. They become advocates. They return without prompting, bring people with them, and spend more easily. That’s the business you’re already capable of running — it just needs the strategy to match. That’s exactly what I do as a small business mentor for fashion & lifestyle founders.

One thing to do this week

Think about your ten most loyal customers. Not your highest spenders — your most loyal. The ones who return regularly, who bring their friends, who feel like part of what you’ve built.

When did you last make one of them feel specifically, personally noticed? A message. A note. A first look at something new before anyone else sees it. Pick one person. Do one thing. This week.

That’s where loyalty lives — in the small, intentional moments that accumulate into something a competitor can’t replicate, because they’re not you.

If you want to go deeper on this, my free guide — How to Create a Memorable Customer Experience and Build a Loyal Customer Base — walks through the practical foundations of building a loyal customer base in a small format lifestyle brand. Download your copy here.

I’ve been watching The Traitors like it’s market research.
I was looking for brainless entertainment… and somehow found myself picking up Business Strategy from The Traitors Round Table instead.

Starting with the celebrity series late last year — and loving it.
(…who didn’t?! Alan Carr murdering Paloma Faith in plain sight? Priceless.)

But most of all, watching a reality series where contestants were actually kind and considered was incredibly refreshing. And oddly cathartic with all that’s going on in the world right now.

They played the game.
And they stayed true to themselves while doing it.

So naturally, I went on to Season 4 (‘civilian’ edition).
Again, there was strategy, restraint, and a quiet confidence that didn’t need to perform for the cameras.

Then curiosity got the better of me and I went all the way back to Season 1…

Big mistake.

The Roundtable Trap: Following the Loudest Voice

Where the most recent seasons had been riveting, largely wholesome (murder excluded) entertainment… Season 1 was loud, performative, and adrenaline-fuelled for all the wrong reasons.

Everyone following whoever shouts the hardest — even when they’re completely wrong and with zero evidence to back up their theory.

Meanwhile, in the background, Claudia is serving candid eyerolls like: “Babes… what are we doing?”
…then cooly herding the cats (sorry…contestants) back into focussing on catching an actual Traitor.

And watching it gave me flashbacks — because I’ve done the business version of Season 1.

Way back in my earliest seasons of entrepreneurship, I assumed the most confident voice must be the correct one.
So I listened to people who were more experienced than me… but not in my sector.
Not building the kind of boutique business I was building.
Not living the kind of life I wanted to live.

But they sounded certain.
So I tried to do it their way.

And it did not work out.

The tools and techniques were too clunky.
The hustle culture was relentless (and rubbed hard against my instincts).

And there was no way what worked for a seven figure e-com business in rapid-scale-up mode was translating to a stand-alone brick & mortar boutique — operated single-handedly — on a quiet west end street in Edinburgh.

It all felt… off.
Busy. Performative. Exhausting.
Like I was ‘playing’ the part of entrepreneur, acting out a business I didn’t actually want.

Why Season 4 Energy Is Different

It’s grounded, clear — and the results are almost inevitable.

Yes — they’re playing a role.
But they’re doing it on different terms.
Theirs.

They have clear values.
Clear boundaries.
Clear “this is what I will not compromise on.”

Of course there are wobbles
(Will the product launch go to plan? Will your clients leave rave reviews and return again and again? Will Rachel stay loyal to Stephen?)

But when your decisions come from “I’ve thought about this” rather than “I saw this [insert any random thing] online…” spaghetti-throwing strategy… you’re far more likely to win.

And this is the Business Strategy from The Traitors Roundtable to borrow: don’t confuse noise (new tools, hot tactics, flashy ‘do this now’ reels) with a strategy that actually fits the business you’re building.

So, are you building your business like Season 1… or Season 4?

Season 1 business looks like:

reacting quickly

chasing what’s loud

changing direction because someone swayed you with a showy reel

obsessively doing ‘what works’ for everyone else even when it doesn’t work for you

Season 4 business looks like:

choosing a few principles and sticking to them

making moves that match your values (even when nobody’s clapping yet)

playing the long game with quiet certainty

building a brand that feels curated to your vision, not an influencer or anyone who hasn’t been where you are.

If there’s one thing to take from this business strategy from The Traitors Roundtable, is ask yourself:

Whose voice are you following — and is it leading you to the vision of your own fantastic future life… or someone else’s?

Because strategy without alignment is just chaos.
And you deserve better than your business being ‘murdered’ by cookie-cutter ideas that don’t fit.

The Evidence: Planet A (Real-life Proof This Matters)

Planet A came to me in full Season 1 energy — spinning their wheels, trying everything, tweaking the tiny things, consuming advice from all directions… and still not getting the footfall or sales growth they knew was possible. (Exactly the kind of founder a small business mentor is built for.)

So we stopped the spray-and-pray ‘solutions’ other people had sworn by.
Picked one clear objective.
And built a strategy that matched their values, their resources, and their reality — a three-day in-store event series designed to bring locals through the door and convert browsers into buyers.

The results?
Weekly sales conversion +80%, event weekend sales +184% (vs the same period the year before), and footfall +77% on previous weekly average. Plus the beginnings of a brand new customer database designed to nurture loyalty and build community on shared values.

But the best bit wasn’t even the numbers. It was the personal impact underneath them:

“Having a fresh pair of eyes has been so valuable—especially when they come with Sarah’s experience and insight. We’ve come away with new ideas and renewed energy, but most importantly, we feel much more grounded and optimistic about the future.”

That’s Season 4 business.
Less chaos. More clear, strategic steps.
Less performance. More progress.

If you want help turning your values into a strategy you can actually execute (without banishing everything you believe in), start with a complimentary Breakthrough Session.
We’ll cut through the noise, get clear on your next best step, and map out a plan that swaps performative hustle for smart moves — and begin building a business you can really believe in.

Book your Breakthrough Session here.

Your strategic wing-woman,

I recently watched the Victoria Beckham documentary — and what struck me most wasn’t the glamour, or the clothes, or the behind-the-scenes look at the fashion world.

It was her honesty.

She was completely candid about throwing herself into the vision of her brand… but not knowing how to run a business. That blind spot led her into financial difficulty, and she had to face the painful reality of how to turn it around.

And I’ve been there — and let me tell you, it hurts. A lot.

For the first seven years of running my original brick & mortar business, I had all the surface-level support. I worked with mentors. I hired accountants. I set budgets. On paper, I was doing all the right things.

But no one ever handed me the book on how to actually run a business. No one told me how to manage cash flow or juggle supplier payments without sacrificing my own sustainability (or sanity!). And certainly, no one showed me how to feel in control of money instead of constantly chasing it.

Sales were good. I was ‘making’ money. But where was it?!

My advisors were happy and were saying I must be too.
So I thought: maybe this is just what business ownership feels like…

Stressful. Overwhelming. Constantly ‘robbing Peter to pay Paul’.
See-sawing between cash-rich in one moment, and lying on the floor in the next wondering when it would ever get easier.

But spoiler alert: it shouldn’t feel like any of that at all.

The Book That Changed Everything

Enter: Profit First by Mike Michalowicz.

I picked it up one weekend, devoured it cover to cover, and it just clicked.

Within days, I had reformatted the entire financial model of my business. I implemented the core principles of the system immediately — and just like that, my business became profitable.

Not six months later. Not after some big launch. Instantly.

It completely shifted not just how I managed my business finances, but how I handled money in my personal life too.

Over the next eighteen months, that shift allowed me to completely eradicate debt, build a profitable business, and step into a level of calm confidence I’d never experienced before.

Redefining What Success Really Means

We’re told that success in business is about more sales, more growth, more people on your list. And yes, growth matters. But if it’s not underpinned by a profitable, sustainable foundation, it’s like building a house on sand.

For me, success wasn’t just the extra revenue. It was waking up without that knot of financial anxiety. It was being able to reinvest in my business with intention. It was knowing I wasn’t just surviving month-to-month — I was building something that could last.

I had learned something invaluable — something real — by trying, failing, tweaking, and trying again.

And coming back stronger.

That is success.

The Ripple Effect

One of the best parts? I got to pass this knowledge on.

I worked with one fledgling business right from their very first sale. We implemented solid financial practices from day one — and they’ve been profitable ever since.

Watching them thrive, knowing they never had to go through the financial struggle I did? That lights me up more than any spreadsheet ever could.

“Having such a good road-map helped me survive and grow, and enabled me to continually invest in myself with training and buy into new lines to keep my customers engaged. I can’t think of a better blessing for a start-up business than having you by their side.” – Lisa

Because success isn’t just about what you achieve. It’s about who else gets to rise because you shared what you’ve learned along the way.

Success is yours to create

Something else I recognised recently is that the clients I work with make the biggest breakthroughs in the areas I struggled the most with when I was starting out.

And nothing lights me up more than taking the painful, messy lessons I’ve learned and alchemising them into something that makes life easier, smoother, and more successful for my clients.

That’s what 17+ years cutting my teeth in small business entrepreneurship gave me — and that’s what I get to pass on.

Your Turn

So let me ask you:

Are your finances supporting your vision, or quietly sabotaging it?
Are you chasing “growth” at the expense of profitability and peace of mind?

If any of that hits home, you’re not alone. I’ve been in the trenches. I know how painful it is. And I also know how transformative it is to finally take control.

This is the work I now do with my clients — whether it’s strategy mapping, business transformation, or simply sharing the shortcuts I wish I’d had sooner.

Because you deserve a business that shines. And you deserve to get there without repeating every hard lesson yourself.

If you’re a small business owner with big ambition — but find yourself repeating the same painful lessons without progress to show for it — let’s talk.

You can be brilliant, multi-passionate, and bursting with ideas—and still feel like you’re drowning. Building a business that works (without burning out) starts with clarity, and that’s exactly what this 30-day journey delivered.

Katie came into the Quick Win experience with a lot of ideas and a bold vision: to bring her constellation workshops, yoga teaching, and new training arm together into a business that felt purposeful, professional, and profitable. She was already highly experienced and deeply committed to her clients, but despite all that passion and expertise, she was stuck in ‘where-to-start’ mode. She knew what she wanted her work to become—but wasn’t sure how to align her brand, streamline her operations, or show up consistently in a way that did her justice.

She signed up for the 30-day Quick Win experience looking for structure, direction, and someone who could help her get organised enough to move forward with clarity. She didn’t want cheerleading or fluffy affirmations. She needed someone to map out the steps, hold her accountable, and help her stay focused.

The Challenge

Katie was spinning a lot of plates. She had a yoga programme to fill, a constellation workshop series to promote, and a desire to launch a new training offer with collaborators. But without foundational systems in place, she constantly felt pulled in multiple directions. Her inbox was chaotic. Her bios, propositions and online presence didn’t reflect her current offerings. And she didn’t have the brain space or energy to tackle her to-do list alone.

She was also, in her words, the kind of person who dives in deep but gets overwhelmed by too many moving parts. She procrastinates like a boss. And while she didn’t want someone to sugar-coat things, she did need structure, clarity and a solid plan to follow.

Our goal was never to create more busy work—it was to help Katie focus on building a business that works (without burning out) by refining her offers, systems, and support.

“The idea of sitting down to ‘get my business in order’ felt exhausting. I had big ideas, but everything felt chaotic and scattered—my inbox was out of control, my marketing was ad hoc at best, and I was constantly avoiding the organisational tasks I knew were holding me back.”

The Quick-Win Framework: Building a Business That Works (Without Burning Out)

Together, we worked inside my 30-Day Quick Win Framework to create tangible outcomes that would help Katie move from chaos to clarity.

We focused on one core objective: Organising Business for Growth. With that in mind, we:

Decluttered her inbox, migrated her to Google Workspace, and organised her systems

Started consolidating her client database and laid the groundwork for marketing automation

Leaned into learning how AI could help her write new bios, marketing content, and begin shaping core propositions

Created admin and event planning templates to reduce manual workload and mental clutter

Supported real-time decision making around photography, event logistics, and collaborations

Used accountability check-ins to help her stay focused, avoid overwhelm, and follow through on her goals

The Results

Katie didn’t just organise her inbox. She made huge strides in her business in just four weeks:

Successfully migrated to Google Workspace with a new domain

Cleared thousands of emails and created systems to manage incoming admin

Organised a mini brand photoshoot to support her summer festival appearances

Booked venues for her year of constellation events and yoga sessions

Refined multiple bios using AI and began shaping a clearer outward-facing brand identity

Confirmed dates and content for a new training collaboration and began mapping out its launch

Reconnected with her creativity, clarity and confidence—with new ideas and energy to fuel what’s next

The Transformation

This wasn’t about colour-coding folders. It was about helping Katie access the mental clarity and structure she needed to lead her business with more focus and more ease.

Katie is a visionary. She has deep experience, real insight, and a powerful way of working with people. But like many multi-passionate entrepreneurs, she needed someone to help her prioritise, strategise and actually get things done.

Now, with the structure to support her creativity— she’s already seeing how much more is possible when she’s not carrying the mental load alone.

“You’ve kickstarted me into doing a hell of a lot of things—things I’ve been avoiding for ages. I’m back on it again, and everything’s coming together. More than anything, this experience helped me refocus. It gave me confidence to ask for support, clear space to think, and reminded me of what’s possible when I stop trying to do everything on my own.”

And your vision is within reach too!

If you’re a multi-passionate business owner with a big vision and a habit of procrastinating when things get overwhelming, the Quick Win experience could be the reset you need.

Let’s bring your vision to life, one focused step at a time.

Begin with a complimentary Breakthrough Session to help you cut through the noise, identify your next best steps, and map out a plan that moves you forward with clarity and momentum.

Planet A’s founders had a bold dream: to grow their business into a vibrant, conscious lifestyle store—a space for connection, creativity, and sustainable living in Edinburgh. As designers and makers themselves, their boutique was a true reflection of their values. But like many early-stage business owners, they felt they’d tried everything and still weren’t seeing the footfall or sales growth they knew was possible. Instead, they found themselves fine-tuning small things—product displays, pricing stickers, layout tweaks — hoping that would be the missing link.
But it wasn’t until they stepped into their own 30-day boutique makeover that things began to shift.

The Challenge

With so many aspects of the business clamouring for attention, Pirko and Amaury found it difficult to zoom out and prioritise what would really move the needle.
They wanted more visibility, more customer engagement, and more clarity—but weren’t sure how to get there. They felt overwhelmed by the pressure to market themselves and unsure how to share their message in a way that felt clear, compelling, and true to their values.

They reached out for strategic support—feeling hopeful, but also quietly wondering: What if this doesn’t work?

The Quick-Win Framework: Inside the 30-Day Boutique Makeover

Together, we worked inside my 30-Day Quick Win Framework to create a bold, tangible outcome: a fully mapped-out three-day in-store event series designed to elevate Planet A’s visibility, attract new local customers, and convert browsers into buyers.

From concept to delivery, we built the experience brick by brick:

Clarified their core opportunity and focused their energy

Designed and executed a local marketing plan (flyers, partnerships, and more)

Crafted in-store activations that reflected their unique ethos and created a clear reason to visit

Created tools to support data capture and repeat customer engagement

Anchored the entire strategy around building community and long-term connection

This wasn’t just about driving traffic—it was about giving Pirko and Amaury the confidence and clarity to lead their business with purpose and momentum.

The Results

Their Green Spring Days event didn’t just bring new energy into the boutique—it delivered undeniable results:

Footfall increased by 77% compared to their previous weekly average

Weekly sales conversions rose by 80%

Sales for the event weekend increased by 184% compared to the same period the previous year

68 new email subscribers were added to their (brand new!) customer database

They also began fostering new partnerships with suppliers and collaborators that will fuel their growth long after this series wrapped.

But beyond the numbers, something even more powerful shifted:

“We’ve come away with new ideas and renewed energy, but most importantly, we feel much more grounded and optimistic about the future.”

The Transformation

This project worked because it was bold, intentional, and grounded in action. Planet A didn’t need more ideas—they needed a structure to bring those ideas to life.

Mette Baillie, founder of Freja Dress Design, is an established bridal dressmaker known for her luxurious, custom wedding gowns. She had already built a successful, high-quality business, but Mette’s vision for the next chapter was to stabilise the unpredictable, seasonal nature of dressmaking and make her sewing course a core part of her business. She wanted to create a sustainable, scalable business model that allowed her to focus on creative work while reducing reliance on one-off client orders.

Like many business owners, Mette found herself constantly caught up in the whirlwind of day-to-day operations—client fittings, endless admin, and managing her busy atelier. She knew her online course could be a game-changer for her business, but freeing up the time to focus on it felt impossible.

So, Mette turned to my 30-Day Quick Win experience for a fresh perspective and to identify which areas of her business to prioritise to move closer to her vision of a streamlined, financially secure business.

The Challenge

Mette knew the potential to stabilise her income by growing her course business was there, but the constant demands of running an owner-operated client-facing workshop and showroom—fittings, client communications, admin—left no time for creative work or strategic planning.

“I knew there was an opportunity to balance out the seasonal fluctuations in my dress-making business by promoting my sewing course. But stretched between client appointments and stuck in endless smaller tasks—finding time to focus and freeing up space to work on things that actually move the needle for me seemed impossible and overwhelming.”

Despite knowing what she needed to do, Mette felt overwhelmed by the volume of operational tasks she was overseeing. She needed structure, clarity, and systems to create time for her big-picture goals—and she wasn’t sure how to get there. To start leading her business like a CEO, she had to find a way to clear the clutter and make space for the work that truly moved the needle.

The Quick-Win Framework: Inside the 30-Day Business Transformation

Together we dove into my 30-Day Quick Win Framework to create a streamlined strategy that would set Mette on the path to growth and help her take the first steps towards her bigger vision.

The goal? Start leading her business like a CEO, freeing up her time, automating daily tasks, and positioning her to focus on refining and promoting her course business. Here’s how we brought it to life:

Clarified her core opportunity to promote the course and scale her income with a sustainable model

Implemented time-blocking to protect Mette’s most valuable asset—her time

Optimised her CRM system, automating client communications and follow-ups

Explored delegation, helping Mette plan for hiring the right support to scale her operations

Introduced strategic automations, streamlining tasks and setting boundaries to protect her creative time.

From automating admin to rethinking delegation, this 30-day framework empowered Mette to refocus her energy on what truly matters: her online sewing course offering and the longer term vision for the next chapter of her business.

The Results

Mette made incredible progress in just 30 days. Here’s a snapshot of the key results:

Time-blocked hours dedicated to course development, giving Mette space to work on her vision

CRM system automations set up, saving hours per week on routine client communications

Successful exploration of delegation, with clear plans to hire the right VA or OBM to handle day-to-day operations

Increased mental clarity and confidence—Mette now has a clear strategy and focus to move her business forward

But beyond the tangible results, Mette’s biggest win was the shift in mindset to start leading her business like a CEO:

“You helped me realise I was operating more like a janitor than a strategic business leader. Now, I’m setting better boundaries with my time and my team, and exploring specialised support to tackle the bigger challenges. This shift has allowed me to prioritise high-level creative work and do what I truly love. You gave me a renewed sense of determination.”

The Transformation

Mette’s transformation shows just how powerful it is to break through the clutter and create space for what matters most. With the right systems, support, and focus, Mette was able to break through the bottleneck that had been holding her back.

Now, instead of scrambling to juggle client work and administrative tasks, Mette is confidently moving toward her vision: a course-based business that allows her to focus on what she loves, while creating financial stability.

In just 30 days, Mette moved from overwhelmed to empowered, and with a clear path forward, she is now poised to evolve her business into an exciting new chapter, and bring her vision to life.

And your vision is within reach too!

If your business is craving a transformation or you’ve got a brilliant idea waiting for its moment to shine—let’s talk. Whether you need a clear strategy, more visibility, or a fresh approach to grow with confidence, my Breakthrough Session will help you cut through the noise, identify your next best steps, and map out a plan that moves you forward with clarity and momentum.

How building real connection—in person and online—is the future of luxury retail and boutique brand success.

I’ve walked out of more shops lately than I can count. Not because I couldn’t find what I wanted, not because I was browsing aimlessly—but because the energy was off. The experience was flat. And nobody seemed to notice, care, or engage.

A lot of clients want to talk with me about selling. About conversions. About KPIs and customer acquisition. But I want to talk about something deeper. Something more foundational. Something wildly undervalued in too many spaces, but lovingly baked into every single one of my offerings:

The art of customer engagement.

It’s not about a sale.
It’s about a spark.

It’s the difference between making someone feel seen versus staring right through them. It’s the tiny, thoughtful gestures that say “I’ve got you,” long before a purchase is ever made. It’s about being present. And right now, more than ever, we are craving that presence.

The Beauty Hall Moment

Recently, I had a brief exchange with an assistant in the beauty hall of a world renowned department store. She greeted me with a warm, welcoming energy—and for a split second, I felt that spark . Pure retail joy . But before I could blink, it vaporised. Her gaze glazed over, her attention drifted, and it was as if I’d become invisible mid-sentence. The disconnect was instant. And unforgettable.

That tiny flicker of engagement could’ve turned into something so much more—but it wasn’t held. And therein lies the difference between simply interacting and meaningfully connecting.

Real Engagement is Not About Perfection—It’s About Presence

I’m not expecting fireworks and flawless scripts. I understand busy. I understand stretched-thin teams. But when I’ve waited patiently in line, all it takes is a glance. A smile. A quick, “Hey—thanks for waiting, we’ll be with you shortly.”

That moment of acknowledgment can make or break whether I decide to stay, spend, and support your business—or walk out the door.

These aren’t just niceties. They’re the heartbeat of any strong in-store experience, and a non-negotiable for any business seeking long-term client connection and loyalty.

Building Relationships > Making Sales

This is the heart of my work—whether I’m guiding a client through a transformative lingerie fitting or helping a small boutique refine their high-touch in-store experience. The truth is: the tiniest interactions hold the greatest potential. They are what build loyalty, trust, word-of-mouth, and customer retention.

You can take selling right out of the equation.
Engagement builds relationships.
And relationships build businesses.

This is human-centred selling at its core—and it’s never been more needed.

The Luxury is in the Thoughtfulness

My entire business philosophy—whether I’m curating a one-to-one styling session, consulting on experiential retail strategy, or mapping out a brand’s next big move—is about creating luxurious, tailored, human-centric brand experiences that are grounded in real human presence.

Because luxury isn’t just about price tags.
It’s about how you make people feel.

The art of customer engagement is a superpower. And if you ask me, it’s the one every business—big or boutique—should be sharpening right now.

Your strategic wing-woman.
